**Live Concert at Vivat Lingua! with the Trio “Les Gâteaux”**
**Save the date:** On 25 September, our language institute will be transformed into a concert hall! The trio “Les Gâteaux” will enchant us with music and songs in eight languages.
“Les Gâteaux” – affectionately described by the musicians themselves as “musical cream cakes” – is an ensemble that playfully transcends musical boundaries. The trio consists of:
* **Jochen Brusch** – violin and long-time participant in our Italian courses
* **Joachim Erk** – guitar & vocals
* **Tatjana Morozova** – piano & vocalsDuring the event, our trainers will introduce the audience to a variety of languages in short presentations. The trio will then perform a song in the respective language. The varied programme will be complemented by entertaining pieces from the worlds of tango, gypsy swing, pop, rock, and classical music.
After all, it is through music that a language reveals its very own sound and charm – and music allows us to experience cultural characteristics in a truly unique way. The evening will therefore be a genuine celebration of the linguistic and cultural diversity of our world.

Explanatory video about working in Germany
Vivat Lingua! and the Immigration Office in Tübingen have jointly produced a video. The video is in Plain German Language.
In this video, Marah Großkopf and Salwa Saada explain how to fill out an application for a residence permit for employment. You need this form if you want to live and work in Germany. You do not need it if you come from an EU or EEA country or if you are in an asylum procedure.
In the video, they explain the application form step by step. Welcome to Germany!

Interview with filmmaker Chris Hofstetter Toledo | La Niña (2025)
On 14 December, we watched the preview of the film ‘La Niña and Solidarity with Chile’ by Chris Hofstetter Toledo (Palsurfilms) at the cinema together. The film was followed by a discussion about migration, life in Germany and the importance of language, as well as an interview with the filmmaker by our CEO.
The film tells the moving story of a Chilean girl, Leonor Quinteros, who fled to Tübingen with her family and made many friends there. Leonor and our managing director Niels Stock first met as classmates at the Geschwister-Scholl-School in 1982. With her guitar and open manner, Leo was a magnet for everyone.
25 years later, Leo's younger sister Rosa enrolled in a German course at Vivat Lingua! which brought back old memories. Another ten years later, Chris from Chile also joined Vivat Lingua! and a close friendship with Niels developed again.
Due to these many connections with Vivat Lingua! we are pleased to support the crowdfunding for this political documentary!

Presentation of the GWÖ Certificate at the Rottweiler Testturm
On October 18, 2024, Christine Schuster, our manager responsible for the Common Good Balance Sheet, accepted our Gemeinwohl-Ökonomie (Common Good Economy) certificate. She briefly shared our vision of transformation. The certificates were presented by Anna Deparnay-Grunenberg and Norbert Knopf.
Not only was it an engaging evening with a diverse array of businesses from Baden-Württemberg (including many from the construction industry, IT, consulting, an organic farm, and even a Catholic parish!), but we also enjoyed a spectacular sunset view from the Rottweiler Testturm.

Support refugees by gifting German training
There's war again. We are thinking a lot about how to best help people in need. In 2015 and 2016 some people contacted us and said, "I would like to support a refugee with a German course." We thought it was a very nice idea back then and thus could support refugee learners.
Therefore, we have decided to continue to facilitate sponsorships.
Since March 2022, we have again been able to arrange 28 German training sponsorships.Contact us if you would like to support refugees with a German course. We will gladly arrange contacts — or support a refugee anonymously.
